First gear warpspeed y-pipe rattle

Ok i know there have been threads about this but i can't find them. I have to know how to get rid of the rattle heard down by the shifter. It is getting soo annoying whenever i go 3/4 throttle or more it's loud as hell. Then when it shifts into second the rattling stops. If it stays like this im going to go crazy. please help me out

ok r u talking about the 3ft thing that runs parrallel with the y-pipe? wanna make sure before i start taking off bolts. i don't see how this hits against the y-pipe theres not any dings or anything on the pipe. damn this would all be easier if they would have just made the pipe right. oh well

I just installed a WS y-pipe and whole cat-back. I have two sources of vibration/rattling.

The first one, which I fixed, was that the there was a lot of left to right movement of the B-pipe.

However, I still hear occasional rattling and more than occasional reverbaration inside the cabin, so maybe it's the Y-pipe touching the cross brace.

Fishpony: I THINK HE IS TALKING ABOUT THE 1 FT LONG METAL BAR THAT RUNS PERPENDICULAR TO THE Y-PIPE (making an "X" with the pipe). On my car there is only about 1-2 mm of clearance between the pipe and the bar that sits across it.

THANKS for the tip killcrap! I hope that ends the rattling problems, as well as the heavy reverberation that I hear in my car at certain times. I'll try it today. Sometimes the exhaust note comes from outside of the car (that is good), other times the whole car seems to reverberate from it (like a tuning fork).

Let me know if you have any other advice about this. Thanks!

Another Question: Can I remove the cross brace completely? Is it only there as "insurance" in case the rubber hanger breaks?

Currently I have the rear cross brace (where the B-pipe meets the resonator) removed because there is not enough clearance to fit it. Should I try your washer method and put it back on for "insurance" in case the rubber hanger goes?

Sorry to high-jack your post Fishpony...
