Ok I was working on my 97 Maxima because the damn Bose HU buttons and display were not working, and the speakers fading in and out, so I pulled it out disassembled it found one of the white female connectors on the black face plate had come off the silicon board, did a soldering job to get it back on and now when I go to plug it into the factory power lead (two prong power wire) the HU won't power up.
I tested the power wire with a multimeter (volt meter) and and am not getting any reading whatso ever I check ALL the fuses in the car and no blown fuses, so I have NO IDEA what could be causing the power lead to be dead. Anyhow ever experience this or have any ideas? If you have any ideas your help is GREATLY appreciated.

I tested just the two prong black cable, which I believe is the power cable, and I also tested it with all three wire harnesses plugged in at the same time, black two pronged cable and the two white wire harnesses that plug in side by side. Originally Posted by Maxima10to1

Tom - you tested it with everything hooked back up right? You said you checked the fuses - you might want to swap out another fuse for the RADIO block and see if that makes any difference...
Check back where you soldered, make sure you didn't cross some connections (i.e. too much solder).
I had that same problem, i pulled it out to put in an aftermarket unit because my display didn't work but i decided not to do it, when i put the bose back in it wouldn't power up. I unhooked the negative terminal from the battery overnight and it worked. i think the bose hus might have something in them if you pull them out without disconnecting the battery. it must trip a switch or something that needs to be reset

Does anyone know which wire is the power wire, so I can test with a voltmeter? and also which wire in which bundle the smaller bundle or the larger bundle?
