Only run NGK plugs in the VQ engine; nothing else.

I have tried Bosch Platinum +4's and they worked like how any other sparks should work. When I switched back to NGK's Coppers, they felt the same when I gased it. No engine problems or engine lag.

Just that:
platinum lasts around 60k
copper lasts around 30k

But the VQ30DE does utilizes NGKs as stock.

The reason people say not to use the Bosche, is because they have had troubles with the plugs melting down and causing trouble in the cylinders.
Nissan designed the VQ to run on NGK....they need to be in there.

Get the coppers (BK5RE-11) and save yourself some money. (they are 1/3 the cost of the plats.)

No problem here with the bosch. In the Haynes manual it says to use NGK platinum or equivelant so I don't think it matters. Ngk is just a company just like any other car part it is interchangable just some get the better bid to be called OEM.

I had the platnum 4's and im sorry but they suck. They worked nicely in my VW and Ford but not the MAX. The car would guzzle lots gas. Changed them to the NGK coppers and everything went back to normal.

That is very true, a few yrs back I was going to buy bosche 4+ but lucky I got some good advise not to, nissan told me they also had guys with bosche in there max's come in for tuneup or whaterver and they found that those spark plugs caused some severe meltdowns.

Dont go with anything but NGK OEM plats or coppers, many orgers have had issues with the car running bad.

i've put about 28k on bosch plats w/no problems. but in the search for more mpg, i'm ready to try the copper ngk next. maybe the bosch plugs stole my mpg..yeah, that's what happened!

Changing plugs will help your mpg a bit... but it is more on how heavy your foot is....

Because on highways, I managed to get 460 miles on a tank with Bosch Plat +4 (Aprox. 44k already)

The problem is the Hanshin Coils on pre 2K1 Maximas. Mitsubishi coils and post 2k Hanshin coils tolerate Bosch plugs, others don't do so well.

i'm sorry, but any bosch plugs suck as$. i started out with ngk's, changed them to bosch plat. 4's , they made my car barely run and much slower. now i'm running denso's and they're performing better than the ngk's. btw all you have to do to find out how bad bosch plugs are is go to a reputable auto parts store and ask around. 3 out of 4 people will tell you you'll have better luck with anything but bosch

I ran my fasted time to date on Bosch +4's. The problem with these plugs mated to the vQ is that there is a slight loss on low end power plus the VQ burns then right up. There have been cases where the prongs had burned right off the plug.
