Piaa Super White 9004 Headlight bulbs...want feedback on your opinion on them

Hey guys,

I am thinking about changing my stock headlights with some Piaa SuperWhite 9004 bulbs. Can anyone tell me your experience about them, i.e. what color are the bulbs, white or blue, and how much better can you see than stock. I drive alot at night and run into fog and dim light situations and would like to improve the stock lighting. Am also going to change the fog lights with some Ion Crystal H3 Bulbs from PIAA as I want something that gives off a yellowish light for less glare and something that I can see better with as well.

Thanks,

Weaver

Mine lasted only a few months. Do the 9007 headlight conversion instead.

The PIAA Xtreme white bulbs provide better light at night then the super white. I have had mine in for 3 months and have not had a problem with them yet.

9007 light output is so much better than 9004.

One of my Silverstar bulbs just blew, and for the hell of it I bought a pair of Pilot 'quartz xenon' bulbs for $20 instead of the lone Silverstar for $20. They disgust me - my headlights are pink, and the Silverstars DEFINITELY lit up the road better. Exhange time ... good thing I saved my still functioning Silverstar. But I still hate them bcz the lifespan sucks. They all suck, really. Anyone have Nokya Arctic Whites?? I've heard no review of those, but the Nokya 9004's I see online are 100/80w (I think). That seems like a bit much for the stock harness, etc.

did some one say 9007?

He wanted an opinon on the PIAA's and they are crazy blue/white. PIAA does make good stuff, but not $70 good. They are a show bulbs so IMO get the cheapo Target blue bulbs.

I've got PIAA Xtreme White Pluses, no problems. My thread asking about them before I purchased I had quite a few replies with people saying they've had them for going on years and using them in multiple vehicles even. Maybe if you aren't a dumbass and dont touch/scratch/ding the bulb they just might last.

the white is pure light they give out, but if you look directly into the housing you can see some blue in the center. It's my belief that this is only a reflection of the blue tip of the actual bulb in the reflector, as there is no blue light emitting whatsoever.

i have had the super whites for quite a while now without any problems. on the other hand, they are almost the same yellow/white shade as stock, and only a little brighter. i would not buy them again.

i have the 9004 xtreme whites. They look yellowish during the day but kinda white at night but they shoot pretty far. Lasted me for around a year (knock on wood) I'll probably go the HID way next

I totally agree with Maxima10to1....I mean, PIAA makes some really good stuff. However, they don't make any bulbs worth $70. That is silly high for some bulbs that are not HID's. It is just like Stillen, they make some really good stuff....but some of their prices are just silly high. Some of their stuff is worth it...some is not.

If you are wanting show bulbs.....get some cheap ones here: www.superlumination.com

They don't last very long....only a few months, but they only cost like $2.50 each and we all know they are not hard to put in.

A better idea would be to do the 9004 to 9007 conversion like Maxima10to1 "invented" and wrote-up. This will allow you a lot more light output for under like $40. Then, you can buy cheap 9007 OEM bulbs and have bright lights too.

Light output > light color
Therefore...OEM > ricer/whiter bulbs.

We are well aware that you don't need to touch the bulb with your fingers.
