I just read my driver's side windshield visor and it says that ithe air bag system needs to be checked every 10 years. If it isn't, the air bag light might stay on or blink. I don't know how to reset the light, but that could be your problem since your max is ~10 years old. Might want to check with a dealership. Just a thought.

Thanks

Bro mine does the same thing, except mine started when I took a rough turn, so I freaked out and pulled the fuse. I heard there are plugs or switches or something under the seats that the airbag hooks up too, might wanna check those.

Mine started blinking when I put in a new battery. I just followed this to reset it (had to do it twice in order to reset it):
How to reset SRS(air bag) light –
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.

If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer.

This lamp is very annoying. I don't get the feeling that the computer is checking in real time. When you put the computer in diagnostic mode, it blinks the error code at you, as opposed to blinking steadily. It seems as if it has to "rest" in the diag mode (a few hours or overnight? that's my observation having done it about 20 times in the last year), and then when you restart the car the blinking is gone. And it seems to stay away for weeks and months, until you move the seat, recline it, someone sits in the back, etc. Ridiculous.

Thank you very much you just saved me $ 500.00. The reset procedure worked. The dealer stated that my air bag module was bad and needed to be replaced. Thanks again.

One more tip--your flashing WILL come back. If you ever put the comp. into diag. mode, and it still flashes the code back at you even after a couple of engine restarts, don't dismay. I don't know why, but the cure-all seems to be when the vehicle sits overnight, and you restart in the AM.

My theory is it may not be the module, but the connections to it that is bad. Why else would moving the seat, reclining the seat make any difference?

That's cool. You have a '95, but actually the majority of the problems occur with the 98-99's that have side air bags. Inevitably, the code leads to a bad side airbag module. Anyone who has done electrical knows that a circuit is on or off. My hunch is that since something actually is intermittently wrong, as soon as it's detected, the warning lamp is activated. It can only be deactivated by resetting the computer to diag. mode, and then the computer seeing that nothing is wrong. I think that happens upon the ignition being turned on for the first time, when it does its check. Like I said, I don't think it's in real time, meaning if the circuit comes back while driving, the lamp goes off. I can only say what I've observed, but it's been over 6 months and 20X that I've gone through it.

What you do is open your driver's door with the key in OFF.

Turn the key to ON, and press the door switch about 7 times fast.

You should now see the Air Bag lamp blink a code at you--that is where you want to be.

If you start the motor and drive, chances are the diag code will still keep blinking.

Sometime in the future, when you go to restart the motor, the light will be gone. I have not been able to figure out exactly why the light goes away, that's why I feel it is not in "real time." Even if it does not go away on a trip, it seems to go away overnight. Makes no sense, but it's from a lot of observation.

Good luck.

Airbags

My AirBag Lamp on my 95' GLE blinks to. Very slowly. The plugs are intact as far as i can see. Although there isn't very much room to see. I must try the reset procedure and see how it goes. But like most 95's i've been having an a$$ load of trouble with my starter.

This is pretty common, happened maybe 3 times so far on my 99 i30 with 160k miles. Couple times was due to something under my seat that might've pinched a wire. Anyhow, google the trouble codes for nissan air bag lights and that'll tell you what's causing the fault, check/fix it, reset it. Bada-bing, bada-boom.

There is a air bag sensor under the steering and it is screwed in with the plastic panel under steering wheel. It is tan little box with one wire connected to it. That has probably gone bad.
