Stock 98 SE wheels need serios cleaning

Do these wheels have a clear coat finish? Mine are pretty bad and though I would use the etching type of cleaner. Is this a bad idea?

Well I'll answer my own question for you, rims came out like new using the etching cleaner and some elbo grease, then a coat of wax, coooooooool

Eagle 1 etching Mag cleaner and rough pad, let it soak a while scrub and do agian, maybe three times, mine are like new now!
