Range of your keyless Remote

I was just wondering how far your remotes work. My panic button works only when its really close to the car. I was thinking maybe its time for a new battery. I was just curious on how far away everyone else's remote works.

I think the maxima might just have the best keyless entry system out there...from a range stand point. Mine is easily 150 feet with a clear line of sight....I have even used it when I am inside through windows, brick building and so on, at a reduced distance. Time for a new battery i bet is all.

When I bought mine, the remote worked way far, at least 300 feet. After I got rearended and they replaced the unit, the range is about half, still not bad.

wow you guys have some range. Usually i have to get close to unlock the doors.

BTW What are some signs that the battery in the remote is going out?

I use to have a viper alarm on my 300zx. And when I use to put it under my chin I would notice that it would work at a farther distance than if I didn't have it under my chin. I've tried the same thing with the max remote but no luck unlocking the doors using the chin method. Anybody get far with this method?

Honestly this is my first car with a keyless system (my 97 max gxe) but DAMN - I have been impressed with my clicker. I can do all functions (lock/unlock/windows/trunk/panic) just sitting in my bedroom of my apartment with the window open and its a good 200-300 feet to the lot where i park - Ive done quite some testing on it because I was so thoroughly impressed.

About 2 months ago I was renting a GMC Envoy SUV and the remote I had to be probably within 20-25 feet of the vehicle for it to operate.
