whats up peeps...car broke down at gas station on friday on way to airport..guess i lucked out on that part of it...just got a call from the garage and they said its 263.88 for the starter and 350 bucks total ..was wondering if ya'll thought i was gettin ripped off..i tried gettin onto the nissan website but its down...im thinkin i can buy the part cheaper maybe?? anyone located in the falls church, VA area or near DC on the VA side....new to the area and lookin for a good mechanic...i have a 96 maxima SE ...with 148,000 miles on it..it definitely needs some lovin..but its in good shape ..thanks
Hi, thats way to much money, i need a new one myself, i found one here.
Just buy one and have a car shop put it in, most shops charge about $45-50 an hour, well that the price in MO.

Alright stop with the madness... first on some other post a guy is getting milked out for $750 for a brake job and now this... what the hell are these mechanics doing?
The starter rebuilt can be purchased at any autozone/napa/auto parts store. Second, its a very very easy job. I did it myself in about an hour. Theres only 2 bolts holding it into the engine and the only thing you need to take off is your intake to get down there. If you have any kind of mechanical experience this job is very very easy.
