Sprint springs

Installed front springs, should I have cut the bump stops? If yes how much, is it bad I didn't. How do you know what is the top and bottom of the Sprint spring. I put the coils that touch each other on top. Is that right. Car feels fine, just makes that clunking sound when I turn sometimes.
And do I cut the rear bottom coil to even the car's stance. I heard that if you don't the car's rear will sit higher.

Thanks
D

I'll answer what I know. Cutting the bump stops is fine, but never cut more than 1/2 the stop. Cuttting it gives you a little more wheel travel. Hitting the bumpstops is rather abrupt and rough, you may hit them b/c they are untrimmed. If you have a clunking noise during turns its the upper strut bearing. They are small plastic disks that aid in rotating the strut and spring assembly...you're springs are just binding up. It's not uncommon for this to happen, just annoying. They are like $40 from the dealer, you may just need to clean them. Usually you install the spring to you can read the lettering, but I dont think sprints are labled so thats no help. They really only fit one way. A sprint owner can tell you which coil to cut, top or bottom.
