I give you my maxima AND 1,000 bucks! ... kinda

As the title reads, IF I gave you my 97 max and 1,000 bucks, hypethetically (sp?) ... what mods would you do with 1000 bucks ... It's a:
-BLACK
-1997
-MAxima SE
-5 SPEED
-stock
... i could really use some help cuz i just dont know what to do first, any suggestions, comments, etc. is appreciated ... 1000 bucks COnsidering the following:

-nothing exterior, cuz i'm not at that stage yet and i'll be getting the windows tinted soon

-mechanic charges dont apply (cuz i'll pay those out of pocket - cuz this 1000 bucks is comming from selling my old truck)

-nothing interior or anything to do with the sound system

so in a nutshell, what's a good start of 1000 bucks worth of performance mods. i know 1000 bucks isnt THAT much but i think its a start ... thanks again!

Cattman y-pipe, Injen cold air intake, Greddy SP2 exhaust.
This might exceed 1000 but not by much.

1. Cattman Y-pipe $350
2. Tokico/Sprints Struts/Springs $450/$150
3. Muffler Shop Custom 2.25 exhaust approx. $250
4. Hi Flow drop in filter $50
Total = $1250

You can get less expensive items. But you'll find out that if you do it right the first time it'll be cheaper in the long and you'll be happier .

BTW, the after-cat-back system I mentioned above was referring to a custom one as well. I bought a 5th gen muffler for $100, and then had that and a custom 2.5" b-pipe for $50. You cannot beat the power and the sound. I love it.

Y-pipe, ECU upgrade, custom catback. Should be real close to a grand and will result in a pretty nice boost in power.

Where the he|| can you get Y-pipe, ECU and MEVI for under a grand?? huh?!! maybe you should start a group deal.

For a thousand dollars I would:

Upgrade my ECU through Jim Wolf Technologies- about $560 not including spare ECU
Y-pipe - $200 from www.warpspeedperformance.com

lowering springs (sprint) $140 http://www.suspensionmax.com/
Rear sway Bar $140 through www.Cattman.com

ok, $1040 is over and a little demanding. JWT has a long wait for the ECU and sprint springs WILL blow your stock struts. So....if I were you I would choose Handling or Performance.
Handling- buy lowering springs as well as aftermarket struts and of course the rear sway bar I mentioned.

Performance- Y-pipe, Cheap intake or hack your stock airbox, MEVI (gives you a TON of top end) and if you have anything left over have a muffler shop make you a custom exhuast for $150.
