I'm trying to get a good idea on which combination is best for HID and non-HID applications. I've created a pole so please take a few minutes and let me know what you are running, plus post the type/brand of bulbs, stock or clear/euro corner/bumper lenses, rewired or not, and the year of your max. Posting a pic or two would be awesome too. I don't have HID's right now, just the 9007 conversion. So I'm trying to see what looks best for the clearance and bumper light bulbs. I might go the HID route (later on) so I included that application in the pole.

This is my first pole so hopefully I do this correctly.

Has anyone used the 1157 LEDs? If so, hows the light output and how does it match up with the super white or arctic white headlight bulbs?

What about the chrome coated Xenon gas filled ones? They're suppose to be brighter and whiter.

 

i got 9007 silverstars with polargs all around... im thinking about going amber if i dont find any heads & fogs that match clearance & bumpers... id love to have all matching hyperwhite lights so im gonna try 9007 nokyas w/ upgraded harness eventually... if those dont work then im definately going to amber.

 

How long have you had your rewired PolarG's? Mine have been rewired for 2 or 3 weeks. Then the other night the driverside burned out. When I pulled it out, the glass was almost all black and the corner lamp housing was very hot, also the wiring harness as well. At the bottom of the bulb (the plastic part where the 2 silver contacts are) the plastic part seems to be melting or something. Once again, I have the PolarG's and why this is happening is still making me wonder, although I don't think running the 27w side of the bulb all the time is a good idea which is why the wiring harness is getting really hot. I went to the passengerside and although its not burned out yet, I observed the same thing. I got really concerned about this, so I put everything back to the original configuration. But since I don't want to ruin another hyper white bulb, I went out and bought regular amber bulbs for now. I wanted to hear what everyone is running on their Maximas before I go out and spend money on bulbs again. I also wanted to see if those who have rewired corner bulbs have the same signs.

 

well see now im scared... i dont drive every day & night so i guess they have been on for a total of maybe an hour or so since they've been in. but no signs of anything yet...

i sent you a PM about this (i forgot that you replied to this thread, i just saw your cardomain page), but do you have a upgraded wiring harness? i dont but i am going to get one to run some artic whites... just dont know which kind to get ?...

 

I PM'd you back, all the info you need is in there. I drive a lot at night so the corner lamp lenses heat up a lot and so are the wires. Not good, so I undid the rewire.
