GR-2/Maxspeed installed (PICS)

After having my GR-2s and Maxspeeds in the garage for several weeks, I finally got a chance to get them installed. I had a friend with some experience, as well as an impact wrench, so it went pretty smooth. The first front one was a little tricky and took us a couple of hours because we were a little lost. The second front took about 30 minutes, and the back was cake and we had it done in an hour.

The drop is about perfect, and the ride is great. My old stock suspension had 110k on it, so it was time anyway. The car stays much flatter in turns, and ride is firm, but not harsh. There is a little squealing because the alignment's off, but I'll fix that soon. Anyway, for anyone thinking of taking the inexpensive route like I did, don't hesitate. I spent about $350 total (GR-2s $230 on eBay, Maxspeeds $120 from whalentire.com). Install took about 4 hours total. I'm thrilled with the result.

Here's a couple pics. I don't have any "before" pics, but you know what a stock Max looks like already.

tell me how you keep/make your paint so pretty? Its soo perdy!

Nice stance, whats the finger gap front and rear? If its not too much trouble could you measure the distance from the edge of the center cap to the bottom egde of the fender, staying parallel to the strut.

i'm on maxspeeds right now but I'm gettin' ready for new springs because IMO they don't drop as much as they promise. people still think I'm rolling stock suspension.

Thanks all for the compliments/comments. I am hoping it will settle a bit, especially in the front. Another .25-.5 inch and it will be perfectly even.

vsamoylov: I've thought about shaving, but decided not to. I like the "sorta stock, sorta not" look.

Maxima10to1: Thanks for the compliment! I don't really do all that much, the biggest thing was buying it from an owner that took good care of it. I do wash it pretty frequently, and use Meguiar's paint cleaner on problem spots. If you could see the hood, you'd change your opinion -- it looks like utter ****. The gap is a shade over 3 fingers in the front, and exactly 3 in the rear. I will get back to you on the measurement thing, I can hardly move because I just played 2 hockey games.
1FSTMAX: Those look like ugly-some a$$ stock corners and tails.

MaximaSE96: Supposedly 1.5" front, 1.3" rear. I think that's probably about right, but didn't really measure.

Whatever. Didn't your mother teach you anything? If you don't have anything nice to say, why waste the time?

While we're flaming about stupid crap, you really need to clean those dusty wheels. And paint that beige ride, grandpa. See? I can post opinions that mean nothing, too.
That's cute. Notice I joined the forum before you. You do have lots of posts, though. If I went around dropping one-line useless flames like you, I probably would too.

I don't think so...

His car looks much cleaner, especially with the black but I guess the key word is "i think"

So what? Have you searched under my name to see what my threads or post are about? Please bring up 5 recent meaningless threads that I have created, that are about flaming and do not relate to maximas..

no my springs which are H&R have a bigger drop and they are 1.4" in the front and 1.3" in the rear. your are less cause my car is way lower than yours and it was even lower when i had smaller tires and rims. now since i have the 17s and bigger tirs, my car sits higher. but the handling got way better now than before.

i remember the days when my max looked that good.

anyways, i've had maxspeed/gr2 for a while now. never really settled as much as i wanted, but i've always planned on putting 20s on when i get her looking right, so its ok.

your car looks really nice though. almost makes me wish i would have stuck with the almost stock look.

I understood your post the first time. You didn't say "it looks nice like but I prefer a lower drop". You simply said it looks like a stock drop, which it clearly does not. My slamming you was just a response to that. For the record, I think stock corners and tails look just fine, and had them up until very recently.

So what? Have you searched under my name to see what my threads or post are about? Please bring up 5 recent meaningless threads that I have created, that are about flaming and do not relate to maximas..
Search? What's that?

Seriously, no hard feelings, I was just jabbing back.
