I need a torque converter

Mine is starting to slip when it locks.. What are my options...level 10 is too much at 1000 bucks. Im either going nissan or a higher stall one if they are around the same price. What does a high stall one offer that the nissan one wont.

are you sure its you tc?

you might experience slipping from a bad solenoid.

speaking from experience, fix this right away or else you can serious damage the rest of your tranny.

how can you "not see the point" in modding an automatic transmission?
valve body work, higher stall torque converters, tranny coolers, etc...

all of these things can make huge huge increases in 1/4 times for autos...
and I don't care how good of a driver is behind the wheel and shifting a manual transmission, nobody can shift faster than an extensively and properly tuned automatic. look at the BMW SMG auto trans, for example.

don't get me wrong, I agree that a 5spd may be more fun to drive than an automatic, but when it comes down to it, computerized precision leaves no room for human error, and there's no arguing that. a properly worked auto tranny will blow the best 5spd driver away any day of the week. a lot of people fail to realize this because tuning an auto transmission to such an extent isn't too common for japanese imports... especially a maxima.

I work at a dealership and gave him my keys so im just waiting on him to test drive it when hes not busy. So whenever he gets time hes gonna check it out for me

You need to look at the SMG a bit closer. It's actually a manual that's computer shifted. Right down to to flywheel and clutch. you'll find to TC in that tranny.
