need help wiring seats...guys with power seats or who have added them please check in

i got a set of i30 leather seats for cheap on ebay. put them in today but i'm having trouble powering them. i knew i'd have to splice the power to the passenger side since maxima's don't come wired for both, atleast 95/96's. i plugged in the what i thought was power wire that has been under my non-power driver's side seat but they still don't move.

anyone know if there's a fuse to check or what to do? i know people have put these in before so someone has got to have some tips. i'm gonna go use my buddy's volt meter to see if it's getting power but in the mean time, help?!?!

it didn't register any power from that wiring harness so i'm not sure where to look next. i checked fuses but i'll check again, still not sure exactly which one it would be though but it has to have one.

also, there are two more wires under there, yellow and i think black, i forget. are those for heated seats or? on the passenger side seat, there are only the yellow and black wires so i'm very confused. if i sat down and thought of it for a while, i could probably wire them up to something and get them going, but it's getting late and i'm working all day tomorrow.

hopefully someone can help me, but if not, i'm going to bump this thread all the time and be a pain until i find an answer. muhaha ha ha...

check all the wires with a test light, or you can just run new power, all you need is a constant and you can pull that from the ignition harness since im sure they pull fairly high current.

yeah i think i might end up just running power from elsewhere. i was just hoping to use stock wiring.

can anyone tell me what the green w/ red stripe wire is and what the thicker yellow wire is? i just don't want to power up the heater if they're heated seats by wiring it wrong. hoping someone can answer me asap!

thanks for the reply...apparently people don't like to help each other out anymore on here.

so i went out and looked at mine and yellow w/ black is +12v (constant) and black is ground. and from what else i could find there is a circiut breaker (which is located under the left end of the instrument cluster) and a 30A fuse. you might could check to see if that circuit breaker is there...im not sure exactly where but i suppose you could look for the yellow/black wire. i think your best bet would be to just run new power. hope this helps. btw, the other 16/18 gauge wires under there (3 of them) are for heated seats.

Did you ever get your power seats working? If so, how? I am having the same problem.

Thanks.

The heated seats, if wired, have a 3 prong connector while the power seats are a 2 prong connector. The 2 prong connector should have a Y/B wire and a B wire. Y/B is + and B is -. There is a fusable link that provides power and it is located in the engine bay rated at 30A and is the closest fusable link to the big 120A link. Hope that helps.

A friend of mine took the power seats from my 96 and put them in his 98 with no problems. All the connectors were there. I looked under the new 96 and it also has the 2 connectors, manual passanger seat.

I bought power seats for my GXE that did not come with power seats. There was a connector under the seat and it plugged right in. So, I thought I was done, but the seats would not move. When I asked other org members they told me that I needed a circuit breaker to hook them up. I have looked under my dashboard for hours on end, but I can't figure out where the circuit breaker goes. Could someone please take a picture and show me?

Thanks.

My 95 SE came with a power drivers seat and a manual passenger seat. My car also has heated seats. I purchased a set of 99 I30 Tan Leather seats to replace my stock leather seats. The new seats were heated and were both power. On the passenger side, there was already a 2 wire connector for the power portion of the seat. I just bolted them in, plugged the power in and was set.

3 Wire Connector = Heat Elements
2 Wire Connector = Power/Ground for seat track

forgot about this thread since the org has been down. thanks for all the responses guys. i actually wired them up and figured it out a little over a week ago. i blew a fuse because i tapped it into the interior lighting wire...i know i should have done an independent power wire but was frustrated and just wanted them working because the seat was in a very uncomfortable position.

any details to the stock location/fuse would be great...thanks again

I think the SE models are plug and play. Did the GXE have power passenger seat as an option?
