Lowest drop on KYB-GR2 struts?

I'm planning on dropping the car and i can afford the KYB-R2 struts. What are the lowest springs I can match up with these to get rid of the 4x4 look. Please post pics. thanx

i wouldnt go more than 1.5" or so. KYB GR2's arent really that high performance of a shock. Im using them with Maxpseed springs. Heres the only pic I have access to right now, it doesnt really give you that much of an idea of the drop though. Ill try and post some before/after ones once I get home from work...

A lot of ppl will tell you dont go lower than 1.5 ,but I been on sprints for 2 years now ,if your streets arent to bad you may be able to go 2 like me and my buddy J who is at about 1 year.I think that if you are just wanting to go lower and you are willing to buy new struts later then you can go as low as you want.

*sigh* KYB GR-2 struts are the same strut as the AGX, EXCEPT they are not adjustable. So yes, they will handle a Tein S-Tech/Sprint drop just fine....

What's better, tein s-techs or h-techs? Also, i have a system and sometimes i have a lot of passengers, so i don't want to scrape. Who could suggest a spring with these struts which i can have the dropped look and not have to worry too much about scraping and damage?

OMFG! Not one of these threads again...

Do you ppl honestly think that a strut thats 15% stiffer like the gr-2 will help you not to bottom out on sprints or s tech? or anyother spring?

My agx's are set to full stiff meaning 4 in the front, and 8 on the back, and I bottom out constantly..

Seriously....if you don't wanna bottom out....Full race coilovers is the only way to go....

At only 15% stiffer than stock...the GR2s will definitely bottom out paired up with any spring. The only spring I think the GR2 can handle is the stock SE Spring. I'm sorry guys. This is speaking from experience....I've rode in many Maximas with many different setups....

So in conclusion. The lowest drop you can go on GR2s is stock SE springs. Anything lower than that would bottom out. And I dont think u like that

im running gr2's with maxspeed springs and i havent bottomed out yet....maxspeeds really give much of a drop but it does get rid of some of the wheel gap.....i dont recommend lowering ur car too much if u go with gr2's...i dont thnik they will be able to handle it.....thats just my opinion....some people have had good luck with springs with a bigger drop so its all up to U!

With ANY low spring/shock combo you will bottom out (S-tech, Sprint, hell, even my B+G springs bottom out). Thats just to common sense for anyone to ask...cant believe anyone even asks. Its how they will handle the drop that people should be asking more about. I personally know someone on Tein S-techs and GR-2s whos had them for quite awhile now and everythings fine. Why pay an extra 150-200 bucks for the adjustable AGXs when most people leave them in the middle setting...precisely what GR-2s are....

I would not even consider using GR2's...even the AGX's are of dubious quality. Save your money and get the Illuminas....you will be happy in the long run.

but keep in mind the roads here are pretty good and i have total changed my driving habits due to being on sprints and having my kit

If you get GR-2s, you could go with:
H&R, Eibach, MaxSpeeds, Intrax, or Tein H-Techs. Anything lower is asking for trouble in the long term. Short-term you could get away with it, but long term would leave you needing a replacement setup.

I sent you an email...

....

I know ppl who have put GR2s on tien stechs and I have eibachs with illuminas all the way down (to 5) and I ride a lot better. With the GR2s you just bounce, I would get illuminas or at least get AGXs if you want that much of a drop. If you want it tucking tires just save for coilovers b/c you can't do it any other way with a maxima
