wheels + suspension - on a budget?

wheels + suspension - on a budget?
I have these wonderful 15" hubcaps on my GXE. I love the look of the 4th gen maxima even if they have the 4x4 wheel gap and the plastic caps on the wheels.
But I kind of want to make it more sporty by maybe lowering it a little. But then lowering it with some caps on the wheels will be kind of awkward, no?
SO my question to you guys is... what would be a good set of cheap yet workable springs/shocks and rims to get (preferably 17") that will not give me a sore butt and not have to drive 1mph diagonally when going across dips. Nothing fancy needed.
thanks!

How important is comfort? Don't go cheap on struts; splurge for the Illuminas or if you absolutely have to, go with KYB AGXs. Nothing like buying a set then having one blow on you 5,000 miles later. Anyway, if you're looking for cheap springs, Maxspeeds are for you.
Rims are entirely up to you but they will cost at least $100 per wheel (for 17"). Check out www.tirerack.com or www.1010tires.com or www.wheelmax.com

Buy used springs. Unless they were cut or heated, springs don't really wear out from street use. I woudl shore-up my suspension forst, THEN worry about wheels and tires. I went about it the other way and really regretted.
If you are a DIY guy, you COULD just do springs first, then do struts in a few months, but it depends on how comfortable you are working on your own car.
