My car has 122K miles and I've noticed that between oil change intervals, every 2500 to 3000 miles my car consumes between .75 - 1 quart of oil, I'm not burning oil, I don't see any leaks either on top or below the engine, yes I do drive hard more often than I should so is it normal? A friend of mine told me cars consume 2 things... oil and fuel which makes sense lol but just wanted to double check.

That's not bad. You could have a sample analyzed by blackstone labs for $20. That would tell you if you have excessive blow by, contaminates etc.. glycol, fuel etc...

You could also be burning a bit but not seeing though the rear view mirror.
