I have a 99 SE with 85,000 miles on it. Need to replace the struts. What are some good struts to purchase at a reasonable price to replace the stockers? This is a family ride so I don't want a harsh ride.

stay away from the AGX even on the lowest setting is harsh on small bumps also one of my fronts leaked oil after 5 months on SE springs don't know any other but for what people say illuminas are very good and you can have them for almost same price as the AGX

If you want a stock feeling, why not get stock replacements? Or, if you want aftermarket OEM replacements, Tokico Blues will do.

With 140k on my '98 SE, I've been pondering springs and struts since the day I got it (with 111k). I've always leaned towards just getting new factory parts, but I can't find them anywhere on the web and I'm sure the dealer wants a fortune. Anyone know how much the Nissan factory springs and struts go for from the dealer? Any other sources selling them?

How do you know you need the struts and springs replaced? I have 105K on a 95 GLE and the ride is pretty rough over bumps and potholes. However it passes the leak and oscillation test. I searched a lot of groups and it seemed that someone else had a rough ride problem and changing the springs and struts didn't make any difference. I'd rather not pay $1k+ for no difference. If you do the replacement, let us know if there's a difference.

I don't "need" springs and struts. My bad if it sounded that way. I know susp parts are generally expensive, so I've just been thinking about it because I know the day will come. . . . .

Tokico Blues will give you that factory like new car ride. They are valved slightly different then OEM replacement units and will give you slightly better ride control. An nice upgrade from OEM while maintaining a very comfy ride.
