Dome Light

I looked on the faq's but didn't see it. My dome light is out. I'd like to fix it, and get it to work again. But i'd also like to maybe change the color. Anyone know how to take the assmebly off and what kind of bulb to put in there?

I looked at that myself a few months back, the bulb is a DE3175, couldn't find a color replacement and those suckers get hot so I'm not sure how a colored cellophane would hold up, as far as getting the cover off, you just gotta pull like hell on one edge, I couldn't believe how tight it was, good luck

It's easy - just check the edges of the clear plastic cover for a divot that would fit a small flathead screw driver. There should be one on both the north and south end - just pry and it pops off. I use Polarg bulbs in my interior, which glow bright white with just a hint of blue. You can find these bulbs for ANYWHERE on the car (even your license plate bulb) at CustomMaxima.com. Just check out the Polarg bulb section and reference the application chart inside that page.

ya, i have a polarG dome light. it's 50 times better than the stock bulb. de3175 is the right part #, and i think for polarg their corresponding bulb type is m16, but im not sure you should check on that. i picked up my bulbs from eBay.

I have polarg bulbs in my dome and in the doors and they're the best. Go with polarg.
