Cleaning plastic wrap off of new bumper...
Hey all-
Replaced bumper cover (and fender), taking it in to get primed and painted next weekend. The entire bumper is "sticky" from the plastic wrap that was stuck to it from shipping. Will the "stickiness" mess up the job? I washed the whole thing with dish soap and a sponge, no help there. There's also a whole lot of "residue" on the bumper. The pic's a little out of focus but it was the best I could get. Tried everything to get this off- 1500 grit paper, very fine steel wool, fingernails, shop rags, everything wet and dry, both water, windex, and Goo Gone (ate some of the bumper plastic). Any ideas? The plastic is very, very thin, and even the fingernail approach wasn't getting anything off. Don't want to muck up the bumper any more than I need to or have already done.
Thanks for the help.
