Finally my Maxima is lowered! No more 4x4!

After months of waiting, yesterday i finally lowered my car. It took me and my father 5 hours to do it. We could have been quicker but we wanted to do it right the first time and not make any mistakes. Everything went smoothly for the most part. The only problem that kinda bothers me is that i could not get my hands on a replacement for my rear dust boots so i had to go with out putting them on the back all i have is the old bumper from the old boot. My car also gave me a present after i was done, that was a dead battery. Was wondering why my car had been struggleing to start all morning when i was out getting stuff for the lowering .

I lowered my car on Tokico Illuminas and i used the H&R springs making this one expensive drop but worth it to me. I also discovered somthing rather interesting, our oem struts must be made by Tokico because thats wut my old strut said on it, and i know it wasnt aftermarket.

Anyway here are the pictures enjoy and please give me feedback.

Definitely looks good man. I did the exact same combo about 3 weeks ago. H&R makes a great quality spring and the Illuminas have excellent control. On these rough NYC streets, I didn't want to go any lower than what the H&R afforded me.

What do you have your Illuminas set to? I'm running 3F/3R. I tried 5F/5R for kicks and my kidneys hurt an hour afterwards :-).

Looks good.
You got a really clean looking max.

I kind of like the pinstripes on your car.
I don't know why...usually don't.

Those look great. On the Maxima, the 4x4 look definitely has to go. Too bad I don't have any $$$

I installed the same setup a few weeks ago and every day I get even happier with my choice. It's like a brand new car. Make sure you don't leave off that metal piece between the dust boot and the bushing in the rear suspension though, you might have to take apart the rear suspension again by yourself in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity... ok now I'm just ranting.

Looks good, knowing that you didn't cut the springs like all the other ricers out there.

Make sure you get your front end aligned ASAP. It will track even better once the toe is set correctly.

It's looking good man. Lowering the car is probably the best visual mod for our cars. A few months ago I lowered mine with Sprints and Illuminas. The Illuminas make the 2" drop ride great!

Your black Max is lookin good. The pinstripe does look pretty good on your car, but I would still take it off.

Nice looking drop from your Max!! I'm saving up my pennies for that combo right now. Do you have a 5-speed or auto? Bet it feels great to wait and do a quality mod!!

OoTOAoO - i spent somewheres around i think $725 for the springs and struts total, then it was another 15 per front dust boot, then like 70 bucks to rent the torque wrench (get the money back tho when it gets returned) then i still have to pay to have it re-aligned. and also be prepared to rent a spring compressor, think thats like 40, i just borrowed one off a family member so i didnt have to worry about that.

Magikone69 - no its still the original paint job, in fact i hope to have it repainted next year. the paint is in excellent condition as far as the shine goes but there are a lot of scratches when u get up close and the front bumper is a mess from stuff flying up at it.

njmaxseltd - im probably getting it re-align today, i went to take it on monday to tires plus but they said they couldnt re-align lowered cars because they need the new specs so im just gona take my car to firestone cuz thats wut the other .orgers said to do.

PLUMMAXSE - its an auto, would like it to be 5 speed but o well. and u know it feels great to do a quality mod. its fun to tell the ricers how much my lowering cost when they tell me how much thiers cost.

Thanks again guys for the great feedback!
