98 tranny rebulid
hey guys need some help
about a week ago my tranny started to make wining noise 1 and 2 gear took it to shop and its the front bearing (front diff. bearing) they want 700 + to fix it. im short on cash but i want this problem fixed. need ur opinion on which way should i go about fixing this
1. do the whole rebulit myself w/ my buddies also i would need all the parts and # needed from dealer to do this (seals etc.)
2. take just the tranny out and bring it to tranny shop just to change bearing
3. have the shop do all the work mad dough
also where can i get tranny fluid gl-4 75w80 and any other tools needed for the job
thanx

Pull tranny
Dude yeah i just got my tranny back today. I pulled it myself took it in and had all new bearing put in it. It cost me 900 for all new bearings and that was me doing the work. All i know is that our tranny's are crap so i didn't want to try rebuilding it myself. I wanted a warranty. So if it was me i would pull it yourself and take it in. Later.
