I bought my car with the locks not working too well. First of all it didn't have the keyless entry remote and second of all the door lock actuator was broken. Nissan quoted me like $200 alone to replace the actuator. Well, I got tired of locking my car manually, so i decided to do something about it. I bought a remote off ebay for like $20 and programmed it no problem. The driver's side door would unlock, but not lock. So, i tore the door apart. sure enough the actuator was broken and making buzzing noises. Off to ebay again. I searched a week and finally found an actuator, BUT it was for a 2000 maxima. I bought it anyways hoping it would fit. I tear the door apart again, and i took the actuator out...lengthy process. I compared the two actuators and found they were IDENTICAL, save for the swinging arm that's held on by a phillips head screw. Turns out you can swap those arms between the two and you will be able to use the 2000+ door lock actuator. I can write up some directions for lock actuator replacement if anyone needs it.

I realize this is mindless rambling, but this knowledge may help someone...someday.
