"*****" noise over bumps

I get this loud metallic "*****" noise from the rear when I go over bumps in the road at speed. Any ideas? [B]

My bad

If you have lowering springs you probably didnt shorten the bump stops. Could be the rear *SHOCKs* . .

Yeah, I guess so. . . that's just what I think when I hear the noise. No racism intended. . .

But you think it's just the shocks worn out?

I've heard a noise similar to that when the nut on top of the strut piston was not tightened to spec. I also had another case where the nut worked itself loose after 1/2 a year. Since then, I use thread-lock on them. Pretty crucial equipment, so threadlock is my insurance.
