modifying Ebay Cais

Hey guys, I think this has been answered somewhere else a while back, but would I be able to take, say, a bomz cai or generic cai from ebay, use just the midpipe and hardware, buy a K&N cone filter and make my own short ram intake? Would it be as effective as other hybrid intakes I.E. Frankencar? Thanks in advance.

everything you need is in the CAI kit. Ifyou want the short ram, just dont use the extention tube. No need to buy any other parts, unless you want a better filter. It would esentially be a frankencar intake.

you should have bought the maf adapter piece and a cone filter if all you want is a shortram.

I bought it so I could have it short ram and, in the future, switch to cold air if short ram doesn't suit me (don't want to drill a hole in my car atm).
