altenator story

ok so my alternator died the other day and i got it fixed cuz i needed my car for school n work. so i had to shell down 300 bucks to get it installed and everything... and after i got the car back i looked at the date that the car was manufactured and it said '97 and from what i heard about in my other post was that there was a recall on any alternator before feb 98 so my car would fall in to that catargory... so what should i do, how should i try to get my money back, should i go to the private used car dealership where i bought my car from and ask for money back??? or can i get a reimbushment from Nissan (the main dealership)

go to a nissan dealership and tell them what happened.. i no about the recall you are talking about, and they can tell you through you vin number if your car falls into it.. if it does fall into it i believe they will refund u money, but go and ask..

The recall was for certain 97 and 98's. Faulty diodes. They will refund you if you had the alternator replaced outside of the recall. First find out if your car falls under recall.

I suppose I'll have to check my mfg date to see if my car needs to be inspected. The thought of leaving my car at a dealership (or any repair shop for that matter) makes me feel ill. The only place that ever touchs either of my cars is Discount Tire and I watch them at all times.
