Should I Get New Mounts?!

Got my gr-2's sitting in the box ready to be installed. Wondering if i should change anything else while they are changing out my shocks ( ie, mounts, dust boots (do i even need any?)). I already installed the springs (1.5 in drop). Anything else you can think to change out when installing new struts? My max has 129k on it and this is the first time i am doing anything to the suspension since i bought it new in 99 (besides the springs @ 115k)

So just get oem mounts if i decide to change out my mounts? Do you really need to change out the mounts?

W/ 115K in NY weather, I would replace the strut BEARINGS, but not the mounts. I woudl do the dustboots as well, not so much for the boots themselves, but for the shortened bumpstops. Or you can trim the OEM ones.

my advice

change your front strut mounts and bearings with oem it saves time and futher problems

replace boots with kyb ones those are better than oems and bump stop is trimmed can't remember part #'s

in rear strut mount don't need to be replaced only rubber bushing that goes on shaft of strut use kyb no problem with those

Check your bushings too

I'm in the same situation as you are, but I'm also changing the springs. I got Eibach and Tokico Illumina for $690. I saw that my front sway bar bushings were cracked, and one end link bushing missing (right side, the bottom busing). Plus my dust boots are really torn.

So definately check out the bushings,

here's a good site for the bushing if you need them:

www.suspension.com

I bought the polyurethane Energy Suspension bushings.

good luck!

Can you please list part numbers needed for the ES bushings (end link, swaybar, control arm)

I want to replace EVERYTHING while im in there...what parts do you need to assemble the whole strut to put the assembly back in the car like it was OEM?
