shouldnt my auto be able to spin?

ok ive always had a problem with launching, my car just doesnt for the life of it...for example it wont sqweel the tires at all if i just floor it from a stop, i have to powerbrake and have the gas to the floor when i let off the brake or no spin. i always see these other guys with autos doing big burnouts and whatnot and they could just floor it from a stop no powerbrake and they will spin, so whats the deal with mine?? also just to add its not any tune up issues i just recently changed out all plugs, new knock sensor, fuel filter, oil (mobil 1) and filter (fram), and cleaned the throttle body, after each thing i did i reset my ecu just incase...dont ask why lol. i dont think that my tires are that sticky but i guess they could be?? i have 215/55/16 bridgestone potenza re950's nice tires i spose but not high high performance, if anyone has any suggestions let em out please im sick of being a slug off the line...also i forgot to mention my checkengine light is not on and there is no ghost codes

Heh you want your tires to spin.. shoulda bought a manual.... you would never have a problem.... The other guys spinning.. Do they maybe have mods? But all in all I wouldnt worry about spinning your tires, your just wasting tread.

1. why would u want ur tires to spin..too look cool?, id rather have full traction off the line
2. ur tranny most definitely has non-locking differential
3. wheels might be too heavy? (i felt the need to put a third one in)

no flame just answering

1st gear is very tall with the auto. Buy some $35 tires from pep boys or wait til it rains.

you wouldn't happen to be running with a hacked airbox or any kind of non-cold air modified intake, would you?

I noticed a little bit of a drop in my low-end power when I started running with a hacked airbox (nothing major, and supposedly it's made up for in top end, whatever), and combined with replacing my 15" steel wheels with heavier 17's, I spin the tires much less off the line than I used to. they still spin and chirp a bit on dry pavement, but to be honest, I'd rather have more traction anyway.

no i dont want to look cool no i dont want to spin i am just concerned theres somthing wrong with my max because my father in law has a 95 max and his kills mine off the line were both auto i have a ton more mods than him all he has is is an intake from ebay, whereas i have franken midpipe jwt pop combo, y pipe, 2.5" custom from test pipe back, and drop resistor...i think thats all for performance, although he does have the 15" stocker wheels and i have a 99 se so i have the 16" alloys idk if that plays a big role but just concerned also i wished so bad i would have waited on buying my max because a week after i bought mine a local dealer got a 97 5 speed in with all options i even thought about trying to go back to the dealer and say there was somthing wrong with mine cause they told me i had a 30 day period if somthing went wrong i could get my money back cause they dont cash their check til the end of the month but obviously that didnt happen. i would deff do the 5 spd conversion if it didnt involve so much downtime i cant hack that with my wife and daughter we need two vehicals for jobs....anyone have ideas? maybe i was thinking of trading my 99 in for another 97 se 5 spd but idk about trade in value vs loan payoff its not even aka i owe about 7K and i dont think id get that for trade in but who knows

I can still chirp mine with my 17's... with my 15" sawblades it was pretty easy to get them going

What a lame discussion. I can't believe how rediculous this is. Tires are built to maintain maximum traction. Take that as a blessing as it saves your life everyday.

get some crappy tires if you want to spin, but if a stock 95 beats your fairly modded car then somthing isn't right

Did you get Accel 10MM wires? They're better than the Nismo ones.

yeah I used to spin my tires a little bit when I was stock, then my KS started going out, intake, and y-pipe totaly killed my bottom end. I'm waiting to replace my KS sometime next week hope to get some bottom end torque back because it really sucks driving now for some reason, plus eats more gas. 0304 owns joo.

BTW we don't use plug wires.

When I had my stocks I could smoke my tires easy. I have 18x8 volks now and still can get them spinning, just no smoke. It is probably all the mods that killed your low end. Ever since my cai I have lost a lot of power but made up for it on the mid end. So its just a trade off.
