Power surge and hesitation on accelleration? New symptom..

Hey,
My '96 GLE has started doing this odd power hesitation and surge during low to moderate accelleration. I keep the peddal in the same place but the car acts like I'm releasing and pressing back and forth. It does this 3 or 4 times say from a stop to 45 mph..and is not noticable during quick accelleration with more peddle pressure. Plugs are due for a change but no other symptoms...
Sort of feels like the intake damper isn't being properly dampened...?

Any ideas?

way to many threads like this...about hesitation...everyone points to maf, throttle body, injectors, coils, our buddy the knock sensor, tps, plugs, and a number of other things...this is crazy, it seems like everyone is getting a hesitation then power from there cars...everyone seems to fix it with a different solution....good luck!!!
