What is the most miles we can get on a set of rear brake pads that would warrant changing the pads? My rears are semi-metallic and currently have a little over 30,000 miles on them.

I think I went about 60k on my original rear pads. and they still had some meat left at that. As you know the rear only accounts for about 35% of the stopping force.

Actually, the rear accounts for much less than 35%.....probably more like 5%-10% of the braking.
All of it is in the front, to speak of.
I usually have to change my front pads about once a year. I drive like 25k miles in that time period.

I have 95k on the original rear pads and still running on them. I changed the front pads this year with 82k. Fronts still had about 5k left on them. I must be real gentle on the brakes.
