Changed my Knock Sensor today...

Wow.... I cannot believe I have been driving around with a bad knock sensor. It's as if my car was breathing through a straw.. I thought my car was fast after the 5spd swap, but after the KS swap.. D@MN the car just wants to gooooo.. Installation wasn't that hard, took about 10 min. Heres a pic of the bad knock sensor: Bad one on the left and New one on the right.

For the 800th time:

The 0304 code by itself WILL NOT SET OFF THE CEL.

What exactly is a ghost code. I think I might have a bad ks but not sure, car seems sluggish. I got a check engine light last night and hooked up the code scanner and saw that I had an ignition code and a ks code. Could the ks code have been stored from previously? is that a ghost code, a code that doesnt trip the check engine light?

Ghost code means it does not trigger the Check Engine Light... in other words you wont know its bad because the light doesnt come on.

When you say bad gas mileage and sluggish, what were the numbers you were getting for MPG. My car's kinda feeling sluggish, but it might be because i am boost crazy... Is there any way to test this?

I changed my KS last night, glad your's went fast, mine took 1.5 hours. First bought a 1/2" instead of 12mm by mistake, then broke the 12mm, then dropped the bolt. Toughest part was getting my hand in to start the bolt again.

Glad I did it myself, I think I could do it 30 mins next time.

This is starting to get confusion, so you check your ECU even thought this wont throw the CEL it will be in the ECU and throw a code - just not the CEL? Is that right?
