Need serious advice...Hurricane problems!

Hey kids,
I am new to the boards and I need some serious help. My 99 maxima (auto and stock) won't start. I turned off the car yesterday and came back out 15 mins later and nothing. There is juice in the battery and I even went and installed a new starter just to be sure. Still nothing. The relays are clicking under the dash and the starter is making a *little* noise when the key is turned. Now for the bad news; there is an excellent chance that a category 4-5 hurricane will hit me directly in the next 24-36 hours. I needs to go. I am worried that the engine is seized. The only thing is that the engine never made any noises, still has oil, and never overheated. If anyone has some suggestions on easy fixes/tests please let me know. If no one gets back to me...oh well, I know its kind of late to post. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Kurt

Bang on your starter a little bit and wiggle the key....sounds like a bad starter/ignition switch. Dont worry your engine isnt seized...

I banged the stuff out of the first starter and installed a new one late last night. The key has been wiggled so much that it just don't want to wiggle no more. I figured that its prob. not the ignition because the relays are clicking after the switch. ? I am going to get a ohmmeter right now to test the wires.

happened to me once too, try pushing down all your battery terminals to make sure the connection is good, that was my problem and it started like new the next time.

you can make out a noise form the starter if you push you head 12 inches form it and someone turns the key. it make a *little* noise, like its trying but it can't.

If its an auto, put the key in the ignition, step on the brake and move your shifter all the way down to 1 and back to park. Sometimes the cable gets caught and the car thinks its in Reverse so it wont start... it wont make a sound... It happens to me all the time.
