sound deadining the trunk???
Hey, I was looking into totally sound deadining the trunk because if i turn the system up a bit and get outta the car the trunk has some rattle to it - i was wondering what kind of sound deadining you have used -i have looked into dynomat but it is way to expensive for me so please let me know what you have used before or tell me what is cheap but effective thanks
There is no real way to completley deaden the rattle from the trunk without paying a lot, but yes i have heard that that cheap stuff that acts like dynomat from like home depot or lowes works decently well
so how many rolls did u need for the trunk to do the top and bottom? the top is really the thing that i need cus my spoiler is shaking a little bit and the rest really isnt besides my plate which i have fixed
Not expensive, unless 60 bucks is too much money
How is Dynamat too expensive? a tunk kit is like 60 bucks, or 70 bucks....i got one trunk kit for 50 bucks on ebay shipped, then i got a door kit for about the same price, and i love it so i bought a bulk pack off ebay, its 39 square feet of dynamat original and i got it for $108 shipped...should be arriving today via fedex, as tracking number indicates.u just have to look around thats all....oh and i put extremeliner ($60) underneath the driver and passenger side carpet in the footwells, its like an inch thick mat and it reduces any rattling and gives u a more comfortable smoother ride than u already have...
I agree with Maximus1997. I bought a trunk kit off of ebay and although I believe the guy gave me the wrong kit (it was all Dyna Extreme, retails for $100-$150) for like $70 including shipping it worked very well. Wasn't quite enough to do the entire trunk. I had the spoiler problem as well. Turns out that because the bass was hitting so hard it broke the l.e.d.s inside the spoiler. So I took the leds off the spoiler. Dynamat really isn't all that pricey especially when you are doing your trunk. In addition to Dynamat you could try FATMAT. It's cheaper than Dynamat and works just as good. Also I got the Extremeliner as well and put it under the hood. Reduces roan and engine noise and protects the paint, but also has other uses like Maximus said.

I actually went the expensive route and went with dynamat. Ive bought a trunk kit, and 2 door kits.. However my trunk is still rattling prety bad. (Im guessing its normal is u got 2 1200 watt amps hooked up to each sub) I dont mean to ***** up the thread but how can i stop my spoiler from rattling? Thats been gettin me lately...
i used secondskin. i think i used about 60-70 sq ft to cover all of the trunk. here are some pics http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/672984/2
