Headlight blew out...

Headlight blew out...
Just when I'm driving in the dead of night and need my high beams the most, one of my headlights EXPLODE into nothing. Actually, not the whole thing, but I have shrapnal all through the headlight. Anyways, has anyone opened up the actual headlight and cleaned it out? Also, any suggestions about getting a replacement bulb? The sealership wants $15 for a replacement but how are the bulbs at a Pep-Boys/Strauss Auto???

I had my driver's side headlight blow out and it damaged that hat that covers the bulb. Luckily I had the whole headlight assembly replaced under warranty. I'd check to see if it happened to yours. If not, you can try to shake out the pieces or else stick the headlight assembly in an oven, bake it at 250 degrees IIRC for 10 minutes and pry open the clear lens.
As for bulbs you can pick up replacement 9004 bulbs from any auto store.
