The USIM definitely has a louder induction noise especially once you wind out the rpms to over 5500rpms because the intake pulses start reverberating.

Well I just put on a short ram intake after I put back the USIM on. I had a CAI on when I had the MEVI. All I can say is my intake is freaking loud! Maybe a bit too loud. I'm not sure if it would be this loud with the MEVI. The CAI wasn't loud at all with the MEVI on.

I always thought that the MEVI had a softer tone than the USIM.

Do you find yourself running significantly worse ETs with the MEVI as opposed to the stock manifold?

Weird. You were running it all the way to redline right? As opposed to the USIM which you probably shift earlier with.

Well I on the other hand like the MEVI and as for mid range power I can't tell the difference between the MEVI and the USIM. All I know is for me after I put on my MEVI I was able to run a .34 faster than without the MEVI. So I don't see why they are all taking off their MEVI's but if it's working for them then more power to them.

If you're taking off your MEVI you might try and getting it Extrude Honed. I know it's not a cheap mod but it would be helpful. And perhaps you'll get better results than the guy that had his USIM EH'd.
