My sunroof won't move.

I recently brought a 95 maxima GXE with a sunroof. A couple days ago, it just stop working. I don't know if it's the switch or the motor, but i know it's not the fuse. I call the dealship they said there will be a 55 dollar just for us to take a look at it and see what's wrong with it. It there any test i can do to find out what's wrong with it. By the way i am a poor college kid, just trying to save some money for food.

there is a great how-to to rebuild the sunroof yourself if the motor isnt blown. you might want to have a look and see if your problem matches.

If the motor isn't making any sounds, then you probabaly don't need a sunroof rebuild.
You really only need to do a sunroof rebuild when the the track is broken (sunroof won't move, or only moves in one direction, motor still "makes noise")

Sounds to me like your motor burned out....only because it's not very likely that your switch is dead.
If you aren't comfortable taking the motor out and testing it to see if its dead, then I suggest you just buy a used one from ebay or a local junkyard.

(only $5 + shipping so far)

Good luck!

If there's no noise coming from the motor I would think the motor is dead. Its not hard to replace the motor and that one on ebay is a great deal.
