Some dork on another forum doesn't believe that the 4th gens could run 6.6 0-60, and 140 top speed - I want to send him the link to the review (was it Motor Trend?) but couldn't find it. Little help?

This article is pretty interesting, if you click on "Stock Performance" tab it shows all the magazine's tests!
Both Motortrend and Car & Driver obtained 6.6 sec 0-60 on their long term 5 speeds! SHIFT

Yes, it was motor trend that tested it and got 0-60 in 6.6, the quarter in 15.2 @92mph and a top speed of 142. It was also their Import Car of the Year for 1995.
I have beaten those times, but not that top speed with my Auto, with just an intake.

Motortrend did a top speed shootout of 1995 model year cars in an issue I saw at the library. The 95 Max topped at 142 on radar as was already stated, whereas the 95 Mustang GT couldn't break 140 until they duct taped much of the front end up to make it more aerodynamic.
If you go to a local library and use the magazine and journal lookup system you can look up Nissan Maxima and it will list the periodicals which have the car mentioned in them, and then you can go to the periodical section and grab them. They generally have all issues of every magazine for at least the last 20 years, my local library has every issue since like 1964 of each magazine they carry.

any one remeber the article of (i think a 97) doing the 1/4 mile in 14.9 or so? I found it once but cant find it anymore. Not like its a big thing, but to have a mag get that time is rather impressive. The test the car with a full tank of gas, 30 or so (maybe it was 80?) pounds of test equipment. What i dont get is the 142 top speed. I wonder how many miles that takes.

see i cant find it, i look again. It surprised me too. I posted it in a thread somewhere once. Someone listed a link to some car stats and it was there.
EDIT: found it http://www.car-stats.com/stats/shows...tsgivenid.aspx
Car-Stats.com Report for 1996 Nissan Maxima GXE
Obtained from Web November, 2001
0-60: 6.5
Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 14.9
1/4 Speed: 93
But i guess its not from a mag, my bad.

if you really want to impress them tell them that stock 4th gens have gone 14.7 seconds in the 1/4 mile, much quicker than any magazine ever tested them. and that was with over 100k miles on it too.
