Bose CD Err, anyone tried the How To method?
Bose CD Err, anyone tried the How To method?
I disassembled the Bose stereo and resoldered most of the resistors on the "problem" board according to the instructions I found in the How To section then put everything back together. The good news is that I didn't screw anything up further but the bad news is that the CD player still shows CD Err when i try to play a cd. I was wondering if anyone tried this method and did it successfully and if so do you know more specifically which resistors solve the problem? (rather than going through all of them) and also there appear to be several very tiny resistors on there that in no way appear to be easy to resolder, did you guys have to resolder those too or do i leave those alone or did i get this wrong and those are not even resistors?
thanks.
thanks.
i had that problem, and my dad ripped my cd player apart according to the instructions, even tho i have a 97 and the instruction are for a 96. he checked the resistors and they were fine, but there was a little diode pos that was burnt out, so he replaced that, and it's now fine. thank god he's electronic engineer so i didnt have to pay out for a new cd player.
all the wiring diagrams we needed were available at www.all-data.com we just went to our public library and got it for free.
