TO THE "LEATHER" PACKAGE OWNERS
I've got a 95 maxima and the leather on the seats is wearing away...Has anyone else had this problem? is there anything i can do to make it look any better because my seats are on their very last leg!
all i can say, you cant make it better (unless if you redo the whole leather) but what you can do is condition the leather at least 1-2 times a week for about a month, and after that, just about once or twice a month. you cant make it look better, but by doing this, it will help keeping it from cracking anytime soon. it'll keep strong.
Bring your headrest to an Auto Paint shop. Look in the yellow pages for Automotive Body and Painting Supply.
Ask the guy for Leather dye. Match it to the color of your headrest.
If The leather is faded or has small cracks, this leather 'dye' will actually fill and color the leather. Its a polymer. Not just dye.
If there are large rips get some liquid vinyl from the auto store. Put duct tape under the rip. Approximate the edges. Then fill the crack with liquid vinyl. Then cover the dried liquid vinyl with the leather dye.
This will do the job. It may not be the best looking repair but its better than spending $600.
Leatherseats.com would be the best fix though. The group deal is a good deal.
