I need to get my driveaxles replaced, and I've been told that if my '98 SE auto has limitied-slip differential, I'm looking at a quite a hefty bill... I'm pretty sure I don't, and I seem to remember reading something about the LSD only being available on I30's & Canadian maximas... How can I check?

You dont have one.

No US-spec 4th Gen Maximas have them.

End of story.

 

But Ben you're assuming his car isn't Canadian... you never know Anyways I thought only 5spd Canadian Maximas had them, not the autos.

All Cdn 4th Gen SE's have LSD including auto's. I have had 2 of them.

 

When you go around a corner and punch it, you don't get one wheel spinning like mad.
It levels that out so that you get even pull, even through the turns.

 

Someone correct me if im wrong but if you jack up the car and turn the wheels if they both turn in the same direction then you have a LSD. if they turn in the opposite direction then you dont. I may have it backwards i can never remember.

 

You guys cought my attention, I can swear I don't have one, but someone here mentioned something about SE-L having them. More info please.

 

One more time: NO US-Spec 4th Gens have them. None. Ever. At all.

I have a SE-L, max7, and I don't have LSD.
I can always wish.
