Does anybody have the directions to making the trunk flip flop style? I know u can do it with hinges, but HOW!

 

If you check Ebay, you can buy the hinges there for like $6 or something. i always see them on there.

 

vqpower has the directions. you can get all you stuff at home depot for cheap...i'm going to do this when i get time cause it is free!

 

no, vq doesnt have it anymore, i think the links are dead, or the picture links are dead is there somewhere else? i too wanna do this mod cuz its free....

by the way im not even sure this is worth it, after reviewing....i heard he trunk will never close the same after this mod, its not going to close perfectly...

 

Not only that but i think it may actually be harder to put things in and out of the trunk. I may be wrong about it.

 

Gotta go look to see if I still have it...I will PM you when and if I find them, Keyser, the trunk always goes back to stock to its a choice you have...I did mine, the flip trunk is only good for show not for any practical use

PS having a 2nd person really helps, i did dolo and it took forever, and get a rubber mallet and bang the **** and it will close proberly and still look stock (ie: not crocked or more gap on 1 side) jsut take some time out to mess with it.

also for max i would use some bigger hindges, it calls for 3" try the next step up in size, it feels more sturdy, not as much play when open/close it, u kinda have to make it fit through the curves on inside though, no biggie

No step by step pictures, but I fixed the VQpower writeup.

 

I was looking for the instuctions on the web, but I could not find them. I gave up when I kept on hearing about the gap on one side of the trunk. If it really fits on with no gaps then I must try it out.

by the way, on topic.......has anyone tried to shave the top of hte trunk brackets so the trunk can close flip flop???? it wont close flip flop because the hinges are put between the trunk and the bracket arent they? but if u shaved the brackets down, then put the hinges.....wont it close like that? im doing this mod in an hour or so....let me know wut u think

flip-flop trunk is and useless

 

yeah yeah, anyway, i flip flopped my trunk its hot, i put the latches on, flip flop with the latches on is the same shyt as the stock arrangement.....when u have ure trunk open showing ure system off or something, just flip flop the trunk by unlocking the latches.........its like i dont even have the flip flop trunk when the latches are on, i guess mine came out perfect, or nearly perfect....i think it looks hot when u do use it....and i got my trunk to close even with the flip flop, but the front of the trunk (opposite the trunk lock) stays up a little bit.....anyway its a cool mod when u wanna show ure system off, if u get flip flop, and u do it right, even if u dont ever use it, it doesnt really matter, cuz its back to the stock trunk setup with the latches on n e way.....just an option i have now...thats all....

and for those who think its gay, uhm, okay....its gay then, the f*ck do i care....to each his own.....1

I am going to try the Flip Flop trunk on Friday. Does anyone have any advice before I start? If anyone has done itand has any insight on how they did it, I would appreciate it. I want to get my trunk to be aligned and not have gaps. Thanks.
