y pipe wont ufckin fiyt
i bought a y pipe and it wont fit and the guy from the company is being a duech face and im having trouble exchanging it becasue suposably a "profesinal installer" has installed many of these and i was like and thats supost to mean that its not a defect? so if any one has sugestions such as re drilling the holes or should i just keep *****ing at the dude? i serioulsy cant get it on i unbolted my headers to try and get it to line up and it still wouldnt. i serioulsy could of had it done in 50 minetes or so but the pipe is gay and shtuff so ya but i want to know if anyone had the same problem.

What brand is it? You shouldn't have to drill hloes for a y-pipe install. I just recently put a Warpspeed on mine and it went pretty easy. Hardest thing was connecting the o 2 sensors, but even that was pretty darn easy. Try and be a little more clear with your post, it's kind of hard to understand your problem.

its cali and i have funkin clue what the brand is its some cheap one and the guy said it should fit my car i told him all my specs and i got the o2 sensors in it hella easy but it just dosent fit. i mean this guy is just dumb hes like you need a profesinal to install it and im like wtf mate i just rebuilt my gsxr 600 and timed it myself i think i can do a simple basic bolt on but ya. so the california one is a differnt bolt patter im guessing since you asked

here is a picture of the pipe i bought well one liek ti from the same people i have no idea if you guys can tell the differnce but hey i dunno http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT the problem that i have is that the holes jsut wont match up there like a half an inch off i tried everything i loosend my headers and everything and it just wont match up.

ya i cant check by looking on the stickers on the hood because i got a new hood becuase some *** ran into my whole front end and i had it fixed and they got a new hood but that one says california on it so im not sure if they jsut got it cause they did or because the old one was a cali so ya im not sure

on your engine plate right in front of where it says the #3000 there are sensors. Fed have 2 cali have 4. When i wanted to know i E-mailed Brian at Cattman and he sent me a nice picture that shows exactly how to tell fed from cali.

I had that exact same problem this morning with a custom maxima Y pipe, I had my local Meineke cut the pipe in half (between the flanges), bolt both parts to the headers, then weld the bottom of the pipe... Unbolt, then weld the top, took like 30 minutes...

Oh yea, if your car is not a 99 and you got a CALI pipe, that's your problem right there....

its fed it only has the 2 o2 sensor wires like that guy said plus i looked at the y pipe that other guy showed me thats for cali and it looks way difernt so i have to do waht that guy siad i guess cause the guy is being an **** and he wont let me exchange it cause i suposably dont know how to install it... i mean if you can run in the special olympics you can install a y pipe lol. you guys are all certified dope in the face people for helping me.

Just curious...did the front part of the ypipe line up good with the front header but the rear header portion was the part that was off?
If so, this is a problem I had with the Stone Racing Header/ypipe prototype. Looks like they're still having problems.

I had a similiar problem with my custommaxima pipe last week. The budget pipe i took off fit perfect, the new one was off a like an 8th, and while trying to wrestle it on we striped the studs on the manifold, leaked like crazy, got completly screwed when i took it to the shop, they claimed it was very time consuming, funny it took me and a friend like an hour and a half with out a lift or air tools and complications. charged me 250 bucks to fix it just to find out thats not were the rattle was coming from, apparently form the car's hard starting problem, when it backfires it blew out the insides of my apexi muffle/cat back so i now i need a new cat back...YAY...just thought i'd share.

ya the front lined up but not the back or visa versa what ever way you try to put it on. its very frustrating when you spend the money and then it dosent fit. but i think im just gunna cut it blot it on tach weld it afew times and brong it to my buddy who welds better then me cause if i do it , it will look liek a bird **** metal in the middle of the pipe lol.

Solution for me...
We had the rear flange cut off the ypipe (the part that connects to the rear header)...then we drove the car 1/2 mile to the muffler shop with only the front of the ypipe connected and the rear header portion only connected to the flange that was cut off. Had the muffler shop reweld the 2 parts together. No problems since. Cost me $10 to have the weld it together.

OK, he showed a pic of the **** racing y-pipe. Did the y-pipe come with the headers or just the y-pipe? If it's just the ypipe I'm guessing that it was made for those headers alone and not any others despite the fact that the moron who was selling them before said they fit fine on other cars.

finaly fixed it i just cut it in half inbetween the flanges got a coupling bolted it down then welded it. lets just say this ... damn its sick i just raced integra gsr and i used to barley win or tie and i just smoked the guy so either he sucked at driving or his ***** *** jsut got smoked by a 4 door auto ... woot
