Knock Sensor Assistance Needed

I've replaced my rotors/pads, spark plugs, fuel filter and did an intake mod. And now i'm onto replacing the ks like many others have. When I read the how-to's it seemed like it's pretty easy, however I just can't get the bolt loose! It won't move a bit no matter how hard I turn. Plus it's really tight in there and only my left hand could go in and barely fits in. I got cut up a few times and still the bolt won't move at all.

Now as you may know, I do not want to remove the entire intake manifold as it requires hours of work and is pretty complicated. So here I am, seeking advise/suggestion on how to get the bolt to come off. Thanks all.

Try an open end wrench. It is only TQ'ed to like 15, it should not be hard.

2 long extentions with a "u-joint" will do it. I just did it this weekend...
I suggest using a 6 point socket (not the 12) so as to minimize the possibility of stripping the head of the bolt.

squeeze your left hand in there along with a 10 or 12 mm wrench (i cant remember which one). put some petroleum jelly on your hand, trust me it helps a ton. Put the box end of the wrench on the bolt head and use the leverage of your hand against the intake to break it loose. It hurts but just suck it up and it will break free. The harder you leverage the sooner it will break free and the easier it is on your hand. Just be tough about it. I tried the u joint first to no success and then found it very easy to use the box end wrench.

i had trouble with mine too. but it finally came loose with some combination of extensions and possibly even a pipe for leverage.
i do remember it got to the point where i was pushing so hard i knew i would either strip the bolt, break the tools, or get it loose and it finally gave.

Actually I've been really tough on it every time I try. And I've tried u-joint, open-end wrench and rachet, nothing worked.

But I'm gonna try it again tonight when the engine is still warm, maybe that'll help since the bolt would be "expanded" by the heat. Thanx guys.

Not if you wait until the engine cools off... hehe

You really don't need the engine hot... i don't think it would help.

Just replaced mine last night. It was very difficult to get off. I tried the 1/4 socket wrench as explained in the "how to's" and it would not move. I then connected the toque wrench to the end of the 1/4 extesion and the long handle gave me the leverage I needed.

I don't think a 1/4" drive will provide enough torque... I used a 3/8" (standard size) and it still required a lot of effort.

The easiest way is with a box end wrench. Just lube your left hand up and squeeze it and the wrench down in the hole and then get the box end on the bolt and break it loose.
