has anyone replaced their knock sensor on their own?
Im going to have to replace my knock sensor soon and I need to be saving money whereever I can. Is it a bad idea to buy a knock sensor on ebay (instead of $150 at the dealer) and install it myself? and how long would it take?
e-bay is a great source...i got mine off e-bay...
i tried it myself but since I moved I don't have a garage anymore & I get to impatient doing it on the street... i ended up going to another .org member & he did it for me... take your time & get the right tools....

I replaced mine myself also, it wasn't hard at all, BUT you have to be patient. A swivel head adapter and a small ratched will do the job. I also found a small open end wrench to be invaluable. I ended up with a couple of bloody bruises but it was all worth it. Took about 45 min.
