body work decision

body work decision
I'm about to get body work on my Max and I'm faced with a decision.
I need to have
1) the left fender and the bumper cover replaced
2) the paint on the left side doors is chipping, so I'll paint the whole left side(including the new bumper and fender)
3) I had sh***y work done on my right fender and passenger front door, so I'll have that painted.
I was quoted $1500 for (1) and (2), and an extra $600 for (3). I think that is a bit much. Sooooo...
Should I get this work done separately? Or should I just find a shop who will fix the fender & bumper and paint the WHOLE car? How much do you think that would cost? I'm in the NYC area.

You should get it all done at once. That way it will be the same batch of paint, so there won't be as many matching issues. Do your research, shop around and find a guy that does really good work. I would expect this to cost more than what you were quoted though...I just paid $1800 just to have my front passenger door re-skinned (I was backed into, made a nice big dent in the door) and the right side of the car painted. The guy wanted another $600 to paint the hood, since it's chipped pretty badly; I can't afford that right now though. He did great work...I only wish I had the money to have him touch up the entire body (he does professional restorations) but that will have to wait until after I graduate and finish bigger plans with the engine and transmission.
The guy took it for a test drive, he was amazed at how sweet the car was for 192,000 miles! I wouldn't have done that on anything else but a Maxima...
