Quick question about Modding.

Hey people, just have couple questions.

First of all i have a 1995 Maxima GXE 5 speed completely stock and got a stillen y-pipe. Has anyone noticed any difference when put in.

My second question is that i got an B-pipe with resonator for advance auto parts for around $80.00 is that a good deal. Whats the perpose of the resonator. Does the resonator have an major affect on the HP and TQ.

Thanks any information would help.

resonator helps you to quiet down ur exhaust... and there's no major effect on the HP/TQ with a resonator installed on ur b-pipe.

do you mean a performance difference with the ypipe? there is a very very noticeable difference in performance when adding a ypipe.

cai is slight in feeling it, but paired with a y-pipe, im sure your notice... cai is a BIG difference in overall sound, and i love mine! you shouldn't be dis-satisfied with either...

happy modding!

I love my CAI / Y-pipe combo, have had them on for almost 5K miles now, and I couldn't imagine going back to stock.

When I first got my ypipe I didn't "feel" a difference. But when time when on, I started to notice changes in the car's characteristics. My gf would describe it as "now your car has a kick!" Now alot of people in the past have said that they have not "felt" the performance of the ypipe. But it is there...a butt dyno will tell you it is there.

I can't wait till my B-pipe comes in and the gaskets. Will see if it makes a noticable diffrence. Thanks for the comments. Also the y-pipe to.

A b-pipe from advance auto parts is not a performance part. If it were you still wouldn't feel anything different. Y-pipe will knock your socks. Best hp/tq mod per dollar out there.

when you put in the y-pipe, does it waste alot more gas or is it noticable at all?

y-pipe does not waste gas. In fact I can see it saving some if you didn't change your driving habits. Removing the cats will make the engine work less to move at a normal speed. But Y-pipe installation along with any other mod is notorious for making you want to push the accelerator that much more often.
