Hello there!!

Today after waiting for so long... i finally lower my car. 2.2 n the front and 1.8 n the rear.... car so super cool, but for months now i have had a problem starting my car. I would have to giggle the key up and down for the car to finally turn on. Today at school the car wouldn't start... it seemed like the battery was low. so i went ahead and got another battery. Now it's night time and the car wont turn on with the key. I would have to push the car to turn it on. At this point i know it's not my alternator, battery. Im not sure about the starter, but when i twiste the key it doesn't seem to be wanting to turn on at all. Please help me fix this problem. The car looks great, but it wont turn on :.(

Mine does it too...oh you can teach yourself to start it, but I'm thinking I don't want this security feature....mine and my friend's car have the same problem. Where can I get this ignition switch? Btw. Turn key forward into 1st notch, then from there forward and hold...should do the trick.

He only had 60k miles on the car but his ignition coil went out about 58k and his starter went out at 60k.. So nto sure. Fixed the problem though. Mine was starting to do the same thing at first i thought it was the battery because it sounded like it didn't have much power. After switching batteries I found out the bendix in the start wasn't wanting to engage all the time, went to O'Riellies and got another one for $50. haven't had a problem sence. before mine went out it seemed like it was taking longer to turn over then before, has it done that to you?

What do you mean turn over? and what was the part you bought? can i get it at the nissan dealer and how hard is it to install it? I just finished changing my switch and sadly my car still not starting. I'm guessing is not the started b/c the car wont try to start at all. there's no click click click....man this sucks..... i wanna take my car out for a ride, but can't b/c it wont start.... well only when i pussh it help me.... thank you

Sounds like you have a compound problem. A failed Crank Position sensor will prevent the car from starting, but it wont keep it from turning over. Something else is causing that.

It could be the ignition ______(don't know the name of it off hand) that comes off your ignition lock. This thing is used to turn on all the avaliable circuits in the car. This thing is located on the left side of the igintion lock(opposite side of where you stick your key in to start the car). It's probably worn out from excessive use. I had to replace mine when I couldn't get the car to start.

A dead starter will not make your car start, A dead Ingition switch, nothing will come on when you turn the key to on position.

You forgot to mention how a faulty starter solenoid may work intermidantly when they start to go bad?
