Gauge Cluster Question
I accidently broke one of the needles on my gauges and i think u guys know how that would be.. I saw on eBay that some1 is selling a gauge cluster..

I was wondering, is there anyway I can buy that and make it match my current miles? I called Nissan and they told me that they wouldnt mess with it unless its digital.. What other opitions do I have?? Thanx..

The car I want to put this on is a 1996 GXE.. It's also a manual odometer.. My car currently has 90200 miles, and I think odometer has 96000 miles... I was wondering anyway I can get the odometers to match?

Theres a way to power the guages off the car to make the miles move up or down... Someone on here did it, you would have to check the wiring diagram for them...
I remember the guy who put 98 guages in his 95/96 was the one that did that.. I believe.

Power off???? We are talking 95-97 here, 98's went to digital. It is possible to roll back the odometer, but it's illegal to tamper with mileage readings, rip off dealers do it all the time though. In this case you intend to match it to your original, but some states will require you to declare that when you sell, even changing the cluster is to be declared, but you don't have much choice! Good luck

I have a digital gauge cluster that will fit your car. It has about 73000 miles on the odometer. You can get that recalibrated at any nissan dealer with your VIN #. I can ship it to you just email me and we'll work something out. PAREDLINE@aol.com

I did the cluster switch to white SE gauges (with 150,000 mi) in my 96, and the local Nissan dealer said there's no way they could roll back the numbers legally. I don't know, maybe it's a Michigan thing. I'm just keeping my old cluster (with 105,000), and took a picture of both of them together, so that way IF I sell my max, I can explain to the buyer that I didn't just add 45,000 miles all of a sudden.

That is not true. The dealer is misinformed. They reprogram these things all the time. So what happens if a speedometer breaks? You get a new one and suddenly your car has 0 miles?
Speak to the parts manager and tell them you want to get it programmed. They might have to send it away. I know I got one from pinnacle nissan for an Altima not too long ago. They take care of that right there.

I just swap mine, I have a 99 GLE, I bought a 98 SE cluster. The two had two different mileages. I had to take them a part and swap out my Speed ODM. I got the instruction from bigleman. It worked.
Here is the Instructions.
if anyone wants it let me know, I email them to you.

Yeah paredline, that's what I thought, but the Nissan guy said they could only roll the numbers forward, not back.
I don't know though, I think I'm just going to go with the increased mileage and hope the next buyer (if any) will trust me and my story. I took pictures and all, and I have the original gauge cluster, I would trust me if you know what i mean... Besides, it sounds like a lot of hassle for a few different numbers on my gauges...
