a fresh alignment every day!
well...I do quite a bit of hard cornering during my daily joyriding sessions. Lately I've noticed that every time I take a hard left/right my alignment gets a brand new adjustment. Sometimes my car goes straight, sometimes it veers to the left/right. Sounds like something is loose/messed up, anyone have ideas?
Theres also this groaning noise that comes from somewhere in the rear during cornering and after the car is off and sitting for a min. Not sure what it is but it doesn't sound good. Sounds like metal rubbing sort of... Maybe a strut needs some lube?
Might as well throw about my question about ideal shift rpm's too... How high can I rev when doing a normal acceleration without hurting the car?
I have a 4th gen 96 max se

first thing I would check would be your tie-rod ends, jack up the car and check for play by moving the wheel with your hands back and forth. as for the noise in the rear, it makes noise when the car is off? and for shifting, you won't hurt the car if you keep it below redline, but for normal everyday driving I shift at 3-4k depending on situations.
check to see if your control arm bushings arent shot. I used to have the back and forth movement when I accelerate and let off the throttle. Turns out my VC oil leak ate through my bushings.

Lose Rack & Pinion mount bushings will cause the rack to move under the force of a hard corner. It's often moves back on a turn the opposite way. Were starting to see a few of the older 4th gens have this problem. It's probably not such a hard job to replace them either.
