License plate blocker for red light camera?

I was just discussing this with my co-worker. With so many red lights camera around the city. It's kind of silly to remember all these location. I did a search and came up with 3 of these. Does these Phantom Plate blocker actually works? I saw a couple of testimony stating it really does works. Anyone know if it works?

I believe the plastic covers work, but they are illegal, at least in Pennsyltucky anyway.

I'm not trying to preach, Lord knows I've seen a few "Late Lights" in my day, I just try not to ever push the red light thingy. Ya know cars, pedestrians and all. I honestly don't think they look good on a car, so I vote nay on getting one.

No they dont work, I remember watching a thing in FOx 5 where they tried them all and none worked. The only one that seemed to work was some guy that got REALLY lucky, a bird flew right in front of his license plate as the picture was taken.

The cover, whether its clear or not, is illegal so even if you avoid the photo being taken, you'll get banged for the cover.

Why not just stop for red lights?

They're not programmed to flash as soon as the light turns red, it takes a couple of milliseconds after it turns red to activate. I've seen people pass red lights without it taking pictures when they had more than enough time to stop.

The lenses are, but not the spray stuff. I never got one of these photo tickets yet, and dont attend to since i dont run red lights, but we all know its just another way to generate more income for municipals. Its freaking nuts with the prices with tickets.... I paid a $115 dollar parking ticket for being over on my meter by 5 minutes..... i mean please!

Read my next post.

Sorry buddy but if that ticket was here in NYC, you didnt get it for an expired meter. Expired meters are $35 anywhere in NYC and in Manhattan anywhere south of 96St its $65...

You either parked a hydrant or double parked somewhere for that $115 ticket.

Hehe! Welcome to the club.

A movie ticket cost $10.
Right after the movie, a parking ticket for $115.
A friday night out, priceless.

what ever the f*ck it was all i know i had to pay $115. Its a little extreme. Probably was a fire hydrant cause i was like 12 feet away from the NON working hydrant and not 14 or 16 feet they want. I am all cool with having a clear path for the FDNY but on a broken hydrant?! Expecially when parking is at a premium in NYC?!
